Marketing children’s magic shows

Sometimes events advertise children’s magic show with a clipart picture of a top hat/fan of cards/rabbit but this does not represent well what we children’s magicians offer in our fun-filled funny family shows. Ritchie Rosson’s shows are great for children from 3 up to 10. A mother of a 4 and 6-year-old will not see a picture of a fan of cards and think it suitable to bring her children to. Children want to laugh and have fun as well as be amazed with magic effects.

If you want me to make a post like this to share on social media let me know or I can send you PNG images to use.

Ritchie is available for family events, primary school shows, pre-school and nursery events and birthday parties in halls and homes.

Editing with Premiere Pro

This two-minute video has taken me hundreds of hours to edit. Sorting through about twenty different videos of my shows. I like to showcase the different kinds of lovely events I get to perform at. From shows of two hundred to small birthday parties in people’s living rooms. It’s a different energy and there are nice sides and pitfalls to different rooms/situations/crowds. Amazing lively fun adults in my audiences to those glaring at me like a doctor looking at a verruca.

I nearly had this video done yesterday. I scheduled in (I’m an obsessive to-do lister). I had a little left when Premiere Pro and my computer decided to melt down. I spent two hours deleting files and programs trying to speed up my PC to no avail. I contacted Adobe and they remotely accessed by the computer and they got it working perfectly again. Thank you Shreyas at Adobe! I finished my ridiculous video.

I’m back baby!

Parties are in full swing now for 2022! I have many bookings for February, March, April, and later in the year. Wonderful to be back at parties every weekend. Soon, I should be able to buy back the kidney I sold during the lockdowns!

I’m facing a few cancellations when family members have tested positive. I got Covid myself a few weeks ago and for the first time in 8 years of doing magic shows, I had to cancel two parties myself! I had very mild sickness for one day but had to isolate myself for the safety of the guests. I made it up to the families in part by going to their houses to do some magic for the birthday boy/girl and we had a lovely time.

If you have me in mind for a birthday party; perfect for 5,6,7-year-olds, do book me as early as possible to avoid disappointment.

What’s in your magic case?!

It’s what all the kids want to know and all the magicians too. Who isn’t curious about all the nonsense that goes into a magicians case. I love the grand magic shows with immense sets behind curtains but there’s something special about the magician who walks into to any kind of room with a suitcase of nonsense, plonks it on a table and has a room full of people amazed and maybe laughing.

I love doing shows for kids. They have a great sense of wonder and a brilliant sense for comedy and daftness. But if your room is half full of adults which it usually is in British birthday parties, then why not try to entertain the whole room?

This video was enjoyable for me as I spent a great time going through not just my dusty props (from months of having no gigs thanks to Covid) but through so many photos and videos of my performances and even me playing around at home and with friends where a lot of tricks can get shaped and played with.

New funny videos every Wednesday. Please subscribe on YouTube. Thank you so much for the support!

Missing the Magic

My magic career was going great before the lock-down. It’s a funny time to be a magician/entertainer. Should I work on new magic and writing for my shows? Or will what I work on now go stale before parties start up again? For now I am working more on getting very fit and doing my comedy YouTube videos. I can’t wait to get out there and have fun and play with a room full of fun loving families.

Having a Juggle

Playing should not just be for kids and while I went down there to do some filming, I ended up having great fun playing with Juggling Jake‘s mini-bike, tightrope and walking plant pot thingies. I am doing some magic shows at Swan Shopping Centre in Leatherhead as part of their awesome Magic Mondays events every week in August. I think me and Miranda had more fun there than the kids.

Juggling Jakes does brilliant juggling shows and his workshops are so fun. He had so many fun toys which of course the kids were all over but so were the mums and dads. Really was great family fun. My favourites were the mini bikes. I used to own one and right it quite easily now I can barely get going on it without pulling 12 muscles.

Come down to Leatherhead; Swan Shopping Centre next Monday 20th August and 27th August. Bring the little ones too! Like Swan Shopping’s Facebook page here. They have great shops and cafes and lots of brill events.
